Using the language in a daily professional environment is the magic formula if you wish to improve your linguistic capacity and obtain professional experience simultaneously. How do you achieve this goal? Terra Australis Language School in Santiago, Chile offers you labor experience in collaboration with specialists in several fields. In a commercial environment, you will meet colleagues, increase your language knowledge, further your career, and learn more about business opportunities in Chile.

Our school has contact with numerous successful, stable, and experienced companies. Generally, they can offer an internship opportunity in your field. However, often there is a requirement that you possess an intermediate to advanced level of Spanish and/or have professional experience in the field. Most of the companies do not pay a salary, although some of them offer a small remuneration (for transportation and lunch). The schedule can be negotiated (half day or full day). The school, company, and student will design a program to meet your professional goals.  

Important Note:
The school needs the following information from you:

• Your resume or C.V.
• Internship duration (days, hours).
• Will you need a guide? In what field? With a professional possessing specific credentials (i.e. a MS. C. or Ph.D)?
• Are you required to have experience in a variety of sites (i.e. in a laboratory, office, etc.?)
• Weekly or monthly advance reports to your college or university.
• Any other technical specifications.

Our commitment:

• We will provide you a safe, profitable internship.
• We will assist you with any matter, as the school functions as a mediator between you and the company. In addition, translation through email is available.
• We will help you to locate lodging, a host family, or a furnished apartment.
• We will be honest with you if we are unable to match you with an appopriate company, or internship experience.

When you have completed your final examination, a practicum certificate will be extended to you.

Expenses include registration fee, meals, lodging, and the cost for spanish courses (should you need more instruction before or during your experience).
